Toilet Ek Prem Katha - Love that blooms in a toilet..?

Toilet Ek Prem Katha… It's the upcoming movie starring Akshay Kumar and the actress “Bhumi Pednekar”, from the movie “Dum Laga Ke Haisha”. While most of us might laugh a little inside everytime we hear or read the title of the film and after Akshay’s hilarious promotions on his social media, you might feel that the movie is just another hilarious take on toilet issues like “Piku”.

But, unbelievably so, the movie talks about the sanitation issues faced by the rural society.

The movie is no doubt a comedy centered around the domestic issues related to “toilet” and now the aforementioned “villain” of the movie. Unlike any other comedy which has a simple storyline without any hidden agenda/motive, “Toilet Ek Prem Katha” stands for a social cause, a problem that most of us living in urban surroundings may hardly understand, but the one rural classes are faced with everyday.

For me, what’s unique about this much talked about movie is how the Indian cinema has been progressing in its stand for political as well as social issues.

In the movie’s own light-hearted, comic yet empathetic sensibilities, the movie might be able to change and broaden the perspective of rural India for a better and a cleaner India.

Well, I am pretty excited to watch the hilarious movie and its own tactful way to change India, ‘One Toilet At A Time’. Are you?
