After creating a magnificent history and breaking all records on the box office with his blockbuster movie ‘Baahubali’ and its second part ‘Baahubali 2’, director S.S. Rajamouli is all set to hit the office once again with his dream project titled ‘The Mahabharata’. Mahabharata is an ancient Hindu mythology Sanskrit epic which has always been looked upon as an appealing topic for innovative adaptations in a variety of formats for many decades. Many efforts have been put in for the serialization of this prehistoric classic for the television audiences, though only a few have got to taste success on a large level.

The director explains that with great stories, come great responsibilities. There is no doubt that this big project would require immense dedication and a huge amount of time from the actors to gain the utmost perfection. To be made within a period of five to six years, a budget of 400 Rs. has been fixed. To produce this leading ever motion picture, even a UAE-based Indian businessman is investing a huge amount of Rs 1000 crore. The production will be done in two parts and the movie will most likely hit the floors by September 2018 for a release in near the beginning 2020. The second part would be subsequently released within 90 days of the first. Primarily, the shooting will be done in Hindi, English, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil. Later, it will be dubbed into main Indian languages and leading foreign languages to engage all generations of audiences on a grand level. The movie will have mesmerizing visuals.

To be a part of this royal epic is the cherished dream of every actor. Aamir Khan has even expressed his desire of playing the role of Krishna or Karna. This magnum opus will mark the wonderful collaboration of the cast and crew of Indian and global cinema. Some of the big names in world cinema, together with several Academy Award winners would form the technical crew. On the other hand, the cast of this big project would include the finest of talents from Indian cinema as well as some big names from Hollywood. As per the latest reports, Bollywood superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan will be a part of this multilingual project. Rajnikant and Mohanlal which are famous South film Superstars will also be playing significant roles in the movie. There is yet no official announcement about the complete cast of ‘The Mahabharata’ and its release date.
