South Korea Boasts the World’s Biggest Vinyl Library
An enormous public vinyl library has opened up in Seoul. It contains 10,000 records, 3,000 books, every issue of Rolling Stone magazine published since 1967 and a performance space. Sounds like heaven for music geeks! In Seoul, a lot of small pit vinyl based bars are coming in which is causing a whole new movement. The digits are pretty massive and hence some rare findings are expected. A credit card company in Seoul has created the world’s biggest vinyl library with over 10,000 records. They not only have some crazy collection of rock scene but also possess a few techno secrets.

Lee Mee-young, Vice President of Hyundai Card’s brand division, said,

Through the Music Library and Understage, we wanted to provide Koreans with a valuable opportunity to experience a diverse range of masterpieces of music.

It is owned by Korean credit card company HyundaiCard and is situated in the Hannam-dong district, Central Seoul.

Other than the massive library, the top two floors of the structured house are filled with records, books and record players, while the basement is dedicated to performance venue for live bands, 'Understage'. It is dedicated to Indie and underground music scene.

The Music Library is open 12 pm – 9 pm from Tuesday to Saturday, 11 am – 6 pm on Sundays and is closed on Mondays. Head here for more information.
