See it Live In Mumbai

Fondly called the city of dreams, Mumbai is synonymous with Bollywood and Hindi pop music. Adding more jazz to it is the growing interest shown by the renowned international acts, which are stopping by to perform for the heavy music lovers. Music is food for the soul. Replenishing, soothing, and sometimes, revolutionizing. Mumbai is home to a number of different music genres. Live music venues have popped-up over time to accommodate the city’s need for music.Apart from the usual popular venues like Blue FROG, Hard Rock Cafe, and NCPA, new live music cafés have opened doors to Mumbai’s bands established as well as budding. Head over to these alternative venues for a taste of the city’s emerging music scene.

Cool Chef Café

Cool Chef Café is located right between the cultural hubs of South Mumbai and Bandra but it's the kind of place you're unlikely to find unless you know about it. Cool Chef Café is near to synonymous for the upcoming alternative culture scene in Mumbai. There is no strict structure to which DJ’s, street dancer crews and slightly inexperienced Punk bands must adhere. Cool Chef gives them a platform and they own it; a live performance with the at home party vibe.

Bonobo is a home to Wobble, a monthly night of "bass heavy" sounds like drum'n'bass and dubstep, which has featured such Indian electronica heavyweights as Bandish Project and BREED. The air-conditioned performance room can only hold about 80 people, people are usually seen hopping on the cocktail or the rooftop bar. Don’t look too hard, just look up, for Bonobo has been placed above a KFC in Bandra West.

Richardson and Cruddas

Located in the heart of the city, Richardson and Cruddas is a shutdown factory turned into a concert venue for music lovers. The place hosts a number of events and concerts regularly.

Shanmukhananda Auditorium

Shanmukhananda Auditorium has been a center for fine art and cultural events for over six decades now. The venue is known to host Carnatic Music concerts on weekends. It also hosts an annual tribute to Ustad Allah Rakha Khan with a diverse day-long concert.
