Fests to Watch Out For This Year

The first month of the New year has come to an end. And universities all across Delhi has started donning on their thinking caps and have begun this year prepping for their respective annual cultural fests. Fests in DU is an amalgam of scintillating performances by glittering headlining acts, uncountable competitions and high peak cash prizes for the participants.

With the Fest mode on, let us check out some of the college fests to look forward to this year:

Mecca

Hindu College

This fest has seen the likes of notable bands like Jal, Javed Ali, Faridkot and Indian Ocean. This fest is a beautiful example of how a fest should be- Well planned, well directed and well coordinated. And there is an enormous dose of rocking performances and competitions by the participants.

Tentative Date: 25th-28th February

Renaissance

Kirori Mal College

The fest is scheduled to be held from February 23-25. Renaissance 2015 has a long list of events lined up. KMC’S fest is known for being one of the best in North Campus. It has a massive turnout, no restricted entry and fantastic performances.

Pulse

All India Institute of Medical Sciences

Pulse is the biggest annual cultural, literary and sports festival of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. This week long extravaganza is the largest inter-college festival of the medical fraternity of India, with a participation of over 600 medical and dental colleges all over India and even foreign medical colleges. For some of the mega events, like the Rock Nite, participation may go over 10,000. The number of recorded delegates varies from 5,000 to 8,000 every year.

Crossroads

Sri Ram College of Commerce

Organised by the highly envied Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), this is a three-four day event which testifies an enormous gathering of students from top institutes across the nation. With fun-filled events like Body Zorbing, Trampoline Volleyball and many others, Crossroads is a must-attend event. Over the years, it has seen worldwide acclaimed artists such as Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Sunidhi Chauhan, Salim and Sulaiman Merchant, Kailash Kher, Raghu Dixit, etc.
